Balancing School, Work, Health, and Graphic Design

Branding Myself
I was thinking about all of the logos I have made throughout the few years I have been using Adobe Illustrator, and I realized something. I really don't have an established logo for myself. I have a couple concepts, but nothing solid. I never really thought about it before, but I realize it's an important part of branding myself. That is what I really need to focus on. I was thinking of how simple the Nike logo is on my sweatshirt, and how everyone automatically knows it is Nike. I need something like that. It is simple, but powerful. I better start sketching up some ideas.
Painting is A Pain
Painting is definitely not my strong suit. I have been working on a self portrait that is going to be water color, but I have never been a fan of painting. I still can't get the skin tone down. I luckily was able to talk with my professor and she gave me some tips, but I still don't like it. Even if this painting comes out great I probably won't stick with painting. It is probably one of the strongest mediums to work with, and that's probably why it's one of the hardest to master. I know many people in my class are struggling with it. I know I can do it, and maybe one day I'll enjoy painting.
Can Spring Come Already?
I wish I could move out of New Jersey just for Fall and Winter, and then move back. I really can't stand the cold weather. I would rather be wearing shorts than bundling up. I might enjoy the cold weather more if I knew how snowboard or ski, but I don't do either. I would rather be on a beach than be shoveling snow. I know it's not even winter yet, but I already hate it. The only thing good about this time of the year is football, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The thing is I'm sure I would enjoy all of those things somewhere that's not extremely cold.
A Stroke of Good Luck
I have had computer problems and car problems the past week. It seems that everything bad seems to happen at once. It always seems to happen that way, but I definitely got a stroke of good luck this week. It turns out my computer had a faulty stick of ram which is not a big deal. I thought it was going to be the graphics card, but I lucked out. I also thought I was going to have to have the catalytic converter replaced in my car, but I lucked out again. I definitely was thinking the worst in these situations, but I guess you get some good luck every now and then. Good luck is definitely something I need right now, and I thank God for that. I hope I can pass on the good luck to you.
Procrastination is My Worst Enemy
If you looked up procrastination in the dictionary my picture would definitely be right next to it. That is because right about now I should be in the gym or working on my graphic design project, but I am working on these blog posts that are due today. I am literally the worst when it comes to these sort of things. I have been that way since my freshmen year in high school. It is something I definitely have to change. I probably shouldn't have stayed up until 5 in the morning playing video games last night, but there's nothing I can do about that now. Time to crank out these blog posts really quick.
My Fitness Advice
My advice for anyone trying to get into fitness is to not give up so
easily. I know I have done it before and it makes getting back into it
so much harder. The best way to see results is to take a picture right
when you start the take another picture about a moth or longer after.
The reason people give up is they don't see results and you won't see
results by looking in the mirror. You may be surprised, but the most
important part about being fit is the diet. I am not saying working hard
in the gym isn't important, but it is extremely important to have a
good diet. Eating is so important because if you think about it how many
times are you going to go to the gym during the week. The answer is
probably going to be 6 times at most. That's not a lot compared to how
many times you eat during the week.
My last bit of advice is to not get hung up on the mistakes you made during the week because you most likely made more good choices than bad ones. Those mistakes should be motivation to do better next week. I have made plenty of mistakes especially this past week not having a car, but I know next week I have to try that much harder and keep pushing forward. This lifestyle is not easy, but in the long run you will be happy with the choices you made.

My Fitness Story
I have just recently begun getting into fitness. I am going to a personal trainer and it is a really different way of life. I have to prepare my meals for the week and make sure I don't go three hours without eating. This also includes going to the gym as well at least four times a week. That wouldn't sound too bad, but I have to balance this with work and school.
I am currently going to school for Graphic design. I have been doing graphic design since high school and stuck with it. Graphic Design is something I am passionate about and is a job I could be happy with having. I could definitely not be happy staying at my current job. The retail industry is not something I would like to stay in, although it is a good experience to have. My current job is also paying for the things I am actually passionate about so I can't complain too much.
I know my situation isn't all that unique, but I know there aren't too many students trying to incorporate a ridiculous fitness plan into their already busy schedule. I can definitely say I don't have many moments where I am bored because I have so much to do. When I am not at school or work I am in the gym or working on homework. The times I am not doing any of that I am eating or making food to eat.
